In accordance with the syllabus prescribed in the UK by the National Curriculum 1994, Buddhism Key Stage One is devised for children between ages five and seven. The contents of the book provide an introduction to the Triple Gem, namely the Buddha, the Dharma and the Sangha. These three elements constitute the three pillars of Buddhism. The Buddha is the founder and teacher, the Dharma represents the Buddha's teachings, and the Sangha denotes the Buddhist community as a whole, living in accordance with the Buddha's teachings. In addition to these topics covered in separate units, there are ten selected Buddhist stories to help pupils gain a better understanding of Buddhist principles and their application.

There is also an accompanying Pupils's Workbook containing various types of exercises based on standard teaching methods for revision purposes.

Buddhsim Key Stage 2 is also available now, which subjects cover an extension of Buddhism Key Stage 1. If you would like to learn more about Buddhism Key Stage 2 please .
